For years, Hope House Mission dreamed of creating new facilities where we could have a greater impact on homeless and hurting individuals. Our Main Street Men’s Shelter lacked the space and amenities we needed. We’re excited to announce we held our grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on February 24, 2020 for the relocation of our men’s facility to 1001 Grove St. in Middletown. The new facility will help more people experiencing homelessness in Middletown and surrounding areas.
The new facility includes a 50-bed emergency shelter for men, administrative offices, additional counseling and case management offices, meeting spaces, a chapel, a recreation room, a dining room with a commercial kitchen, a private intake office, and a health counseling room for nurses and visiting doctors.
The new facility also includes 30 one-bedroom permanent supportive housing apartments designed to especially help chronically homeless individuals. The apartments include counseling and case management offices.
Said Tim Williams, Executive Director of Operations at Hope House Mission, “God has provided the broken and hurting people of the Middletown region with a facility that will help turn their lives around. They will receive food, safe shelter and services in a dignified environment, all leading to a better opportunity for lasting self-sufficiency. We thank every donor and supporter who made this dream project a reality.”
Abilities First gifted the Grove Street property to Hope House Mission. Other project partners include: Butler Metropolitan Housing Authority, City Gospel Mission, The City of Middletown, Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, Finance Fund, Heritage Bank, Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing, Ohio Housing Finance Agency, RiverHills Bank, Platte Architecture + Design, and The Model Group, Inc.
